Globetotting started as a family travel blog when I was living in India reviewing hotels and easy escapes from the capital for families. From this initial India-focused site, globetotting has grown to become a trusted resource for families who want to explore the world.
Now, as my children get older, globetotting still covers plenty of destinations for families as well as amazing places that you may choose to visit without the kids in tow.
I have always travelled; I grew up travelling from a young age and I’ve never really stopped. I spent my childhood moving between Belgium, France and the U.S. and have since lived in a further six countries. I have three wonderful children, each born in a different place (Australia, India and Mexico) and we’re currently living in London, U.K.
I started travel writing when I lived in Beijing, China. There, I was a writer for an arts and entertainment magazine, Beijing Scene. This bilingual magazine was the first of its kind in the country. I interviewed authors, profiled film directors and spent time with some charismatic – and quirky – performance artists. I also covered travel.
My next travel writing job was with Lonely Planet and I have co-authored guides to China, Australia and India. From budget hostels I moved into luxury hotels and reviewed destinations for the British luxury hotel brand, Mr & Mrs Smith.
My work has also appeared in publications including The Telegraph, The Independent, Angels & Urchins, Absolutely Mama, France Today, Lonely Planet, Wanderlust Magazine, National Geographic Traveller, Tonic Magazine, the Mail on Sunday, and BBC Food among others. I am often called upon as a family travel expert and was on the panel for Angels & Urchins’ annual travel awards. I was also featured in Huffington Post U.K.
