We received some fantastic news last week when we learnt that we had been shortlisted in the Best Parent Blogger category by Mumpreneur UK. For those of you who don’t know, Mumpreneur is the UK’s leading support network for mums in business offering advice, resources, articles and events to parents who run their own business. They are a hugely helpful resource to mothers across the UK that have taken that big step towards establishing their own companies and we’re thrilled that our globetotting blog has been recognised by them as one to watch.

Best Parent Blogger Finalist Award

Ever since we first established globetotting we wanted the website to be a trusted source for families that love to travel, offering tried and tested hotel and holiday recommendations to some of our favourite destinations around the world – those we’ve already taken our own kids to and those that are high on our travel wish list! The globetotting blog has always been a big part of this and has provided us with a platform to share family travel advice, travel stories, tips and ideas.

The idea has always been to have a very collaborative blog where like-minded families could contribute their ideas and travel tales. We have been extremely fortunate to have the support of some wonderful writers, bloggers and travellers who have happily shared their stories with us in our popular My Family Adventure series. In addition to our other regular blog series including Best Travel Apps For Families and Travel Gadgets & Gizmos We Like, we have plans for some more regular entries relating to health and travel, interviews with other mumpreneurs and recommended reads. We’re also working on getting more kids’ voices heard through our blog too.

In short we have big plans. But we’re extremely happy that our work to date has been recognised and we’ve not stopped dancing around globetotting HQ since we heard. Now all we need to do is win!

We are, however, up against stiff competition. Other finalists in our category are Angel Eden, A New Addition, Beautilicious 40 Bride, Coconut and Chocolate, Ice The Cake, Kensington Mums, Labels4Kids, Nutty About and The Super Mum Project. All are excellent blogs. Results will be announced at the annual Mumpreneur UK conference on September 28th. We’re keeping everything crossed!
