This week our favourite Travel Apps are all about fighting jetlag and flying around the globe.
Apps For You: JetLag Genie
Jetlag can be a killer. Especially when travelling with kids. That horrible walking-around-in-a-cloud-of-soup feeling can take days to disappear and really impact on the family holiday. Although there are lots of theories concerning the best ways to beat jetlag, it’s generally agreed that modifying your sleeping habits before a trip can help. JetLag Genie lets you input your travel dates, destination(s) and sleep preferences and comes back with a plan to help – theoretically – ease you into your new time zone.

Apps for the Kids: Barefoot World Atlas
My eldest loves this App and spends hours flying around the animated 3D globe exploring the world. Kids can spin the globe with a simple swipe, pinch zoom to fly down to the surface and then tap on one of the hundreds of icons featured to learn about everything from the Taj Mahal to the Northern Lights. There are music and sound effects for each region, a huge collection of photographs and 3D rotations of historical objects form the Royal Geographical Society. Geographer and BBC TV presenter Nicholas Crane is your guide as you whiz around the world.
Barefoot World Atlas is now available in English, Spanish, Catalan and French.
