PTY: Panama Expandida

El Mac Panamá abre su programa expositivo este 18 de enero con la X Bienal Centroamericana. Esta exhibición presenta un recorrido de las obras de 13 artistas panameños que participaron en la XBC este año. Estos artistas son: Ela Spalding, José Braithwaite, José Castrellón, Raphael Salazar, María Raquel Cochez, Donna Conlon, Jonathan Harker, Antonio José Guzmán, Oswaldo “Achu” De León Kantule, Pilar Moreno, Rachelle Mozman, Jhafis Quintero, y la artista argentina Irene Kopelman. Además, tendremos la presencia especial de Ingmar Herrera, quien participó en la XBC vía web con la X Sonora, plataforma de proyectos sonoros experimentales.

Durante la exhibición se llevarán a cabo diversas actividades para profundizar en los temas abarcados por los artistas participantes. Entre ellas tendremos dos foros, “Panamá Resonante: El sonido como experiencia”, en el Centro Cultural de España en enero, y “Arte y Conocimiento: Bienales de Centroamérica y el Caribe” en febrero en el MAC, con la participación especial de José Manuel Noceda, curador de la respetada Bienal de la Habana. Además, se harán activaciones del proyecto bienalero “Horizonte Rocola” en Panamá Ciudad y Colón entre febrero y marzo, y se llevará a cabo una acción de arte público auspiciada por la AECID.

Hora: 7:30 pm. Las puertas del museo abren a partir de las 7 pm.
Entrada gratuita para el público en general.

The Mac Panama opens its exhibition program this January 18 with the X Biennial Central American. This exhibition presents a tour of the works of 13 Panamanian artists who participated in the XBC this year. These artists are: Ela Spalding, José Braithwaite, José Castrellón, Raphael Salazar, María Raquel Cochez, Donna Conlon, Jonathan Harker, Antonio José Guzmán, Oswaldo “Achu” De León Kantule, Pilar Moreno, Rachelle Mozman, Jhafis Quintero, and the artist Argentina Irene Kopelman. In addition, we will have the special presence of Ingmar Herrera, who participated in the XBC via web with the X Sonora, platform of experimental sound projects.

During the exhibition, various activities will be carried out to deepen the themes covered by the participating artists. Among them we will have two forums, “Resonant Panama: Sound as an Experience”, in the Cultural Center of Spain in January, and “Art and Knowledge: Biennials of Central America and the Caribbean” in February at MAC, with the special participation of José Manuel Noceda, curator of the respected Havana Biennial. In addition, there will be activations of the Bienalero project “Horizonte Rocola” in Panama City and Colón between February and March, and a public art action will be carried out under the auspices of the AECID.
