It’s time for our weekly round up of Instagram inspiration.  In this Top 10 pick we look for images that we believe best capture the spirit of family travel adventure. Our favourite photos this week were taken in Europe, Africa, The Caribbean and Saudi Arabia.

Don’t forget to follow @globetotting for our daily snaps and to tag us with #globetotting if you’d like to be considered in our weekly Top 10.

@globalmouse has been giving us a taster of La Dolce Vita in Puglia this week. This shot of ancient Matera is a prime example of picture postcard Italy.

Hands up who would rather be lying on one of those poolside beds in the Dominican Republic right now? Via @amieciaobambino

Photo by @amivitale. On Valentine’s Day, I think about Kamara and his love for Kilifi who was orphaned after his mother was poached. Kilifi is an 18-month-old rhino and his keeper, Kamara is currently hand-raising along with two other baby #rhinos at #Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (@lewa_wildlife) in #Kenya. Kamara spends 12 hours every day watching over the vulnerable baby rhinos. He loves these animals like his own children and is part of the reason Kenya’s black rhinos, whose population had plummeted to near extinction, are doing so well here. Much needed attention has been focused on the plight of wildlife and the conflict between heavily armed poachers and increasingly militarized wildlife rangers. But very little has been said about the indigenous communities on the front lines of the poaching wars and the incredible work they do to protect these animals. They hold the key to saving Africa’s great animals. Strictly speaking, this may not fall into the ‘Family Travel’ bracket but how could we not share this heart-melting photo from Kenya with you? Posted on Valentine’s Day by photojournalist @amivitale it was also part of National Geographic’s Picturing Love series. Besides it being a fabulous image, it also pays homage to the brave individuals and the remarkable work they do to protect Africa’s wildlife.

According to research studies Instagram photos with a lot of blue in them receive 24% more likes than photos with a lot of red and orange.  This one taken in Austria by @janezferkolj certainly caught our attention.

We agree with you @morgansmith, these types of things are a million times more fun with kids in tow!  Taken in Big Bear Ski Resort, California.

They say the journey is more important than the destination. We’re never so sure about that one when it comes to travelling with children, but we’d happily hitch a ride to Grenada with @chicfamilytravels!

Spent the afternoon sledging down mountains. Great fun once you get going… #andermatt #snow #switzerland
