Best Educational Destinations
Like any good parent you want to make sure your young ones grow up to be responsible, educated, and cultured adults. At the same time, however, like any loving parent, you want to make sure the kids are happy, having fun, and doing something meaningful. These are some of the best places to visit if you’re looking for the best of both worlds.
Located in the donated land between both Virginia and Maryland, our nation’s capital, Washington DC is definitely a bucket list destination for both kids and adults alike. All three of the nation’s branches of government are located here, so it’s the perfect place to learn about how the US government works.
An important stop for parents of future presidents, judges, and other leaders, DC is home to monuments and museums that tell the thrilling story of our nation. The best part – most attractions and sites are 100% free. Don’t forget to check out the National Zoological Park, one of the oldest zoos in the US. It houses thousands of animals, including Panda bears.
For the parents, Washington DC also has an exciting nightlife, beautiful historical architecture, and rich food and wine experiences.
Consider checking out Cherry Hill Park Campground It’s the closest RV park and campground to Washington, D.C. and is the perfect place to stay while exploring our nation’s capital.

The award-winning center has over 700 attractions including a planetarium, 3D digital Cinema, and live presentations every day. You can explore everything from engineering and tech to dinosaurs and space exploration.
Entry is $20 for children 11 and under and $25 for adults for a day pass. If you absolutely love it, memberships start at $90 which provides unlimited access to the museum for you and another guest. All very reasonably priced for the hours of entertainment and education you can receive here.
Located in Connecticut, the Mystic Seaport: the Museum of America and the Sea, is the largest maritime museum in the country. It has an impressive collection of sailing ships and boats that will fuel the imaginations of the whole family. Explore what it was like to be 19th century voyagers and fishermen.
Mystic Seaport also consists of more than 60 restored historic buildings. Activities at the seaport include a navigations quest, toy boat building, a discovery barn, and more! Tickets are $17 for kids under 18 and $26 for adults.
