If you are going to be in Les Portes du Soleil during the summer months, then the Multi Pass is without doubt the best way to make the most of the mountains. The Multi Pass scheme allows you to experience an huge array of indoor and outdoor activities in the region all for just €2 per day!
We regularly spend part of the summer season in Morzine. Our favourite summer activities include the pool in Morzine the lakes at Les Gets and Montriond, and hiking. The Portes du Soleil multi pass allows us to do all these activities and more while saving money.
Plus, it has given us access to places that we previously had not tried before. These included the ice skating rink in Morzine and the Les Gets Museum of Mechanical Instruments.
Here’s why you should really take advantage of the Portes du Soleil multi pass on your next family holiday to the French Alps.
Disclosure: We were given Multi Passes courtesy of Morzine Tourism for the purpose of this review. Please see my disclosure policy for more details.

The Portes du Soleil
The Portes du Soleil area covers 12 resorts located between Mont Blanc in France and Lake Geneva in Switzerland. The region has always been popular during winter months but in recent years they’ve become increasingly well-known as a summer destination with myriad activities on offer from hiking and rafting to swimming, ice rinks and even crazy golf.
Les Gets in particular is famous for its bike park with over 128km of marked trails for mountain bikes and specially adapted ones for electronic mountain bikes too.
The Portes du Soleil Multi Pass
The Multi pass is a holiday card that is available in the following resorts:
- Abondance
- Avoriaz
- Chatel
- La Chapelle D’Abondance
- Les Gets
- Montriond
- Morzine
- St Jean D’Aulps
The same card can be used across all of the resorts.

The card gives you unlimited access to more than 60 activities in the region. These include the following activities:
- 26 ski lifts / lift passes which in turn give you access to 400km of walking trails
- 6 pools and lakes
- 6 museums and cultural sites
- 3 mini-golf courses
- 1 ice-skating rink, perfect for rainy days in Morzine
- 1 indoor climbing wall
- 8 locations with tennis courts
- 6 tourist trains to take you around various Portes du Soleil villages
Given that entry to the swimming pool in Morzine, for example, costs €6 per adult and €4.50 per child aged between 5 – 17 years for a single entry, it’s easy to see that the Multi Pass really is great value.
The card also offers discounts in places. For example, in Les Gets you can receive a 10% discount when booking with Les Gets Parapente (Les Gets Paragliding) if you have the Multi Pass. And in Morzine you are eligible to 10% off the summer toboggan run with the Multi Pass. In Avoriaz you get a 10% discount on the 18-hole golf course and in Montriond / Saint Jean D’Aulps you can access a discount at the Indiana ‘Ventures, which offers paintball and an adventure climbing course.

How the Multi Pass works
There are various Multi Pass options to choose from, the most popular for visitors being the Multi Pass Sejour. Children under 5 are free.
Multi Pass Sejour
The Multi-Pass Sejour (visitor) is the one you want if you’re going to be in one of the resorts for a week or longer. The catch is that you must be staying in a ‘Multi Pass’ participating accommodation; check with your holiday accommodation provider. All that is required is for the accommodation providers to complete a voucher which you then present at one of the lift pass desks. This is where you’ll then purchase your Multi Pass.
The cost is €2 per day per person for a minimum of two days.
The Day Multi Pass
The Day Pass works well if you just want a one-off pass say, for example, if you fancy a day of hiking and will be using a number of the mountain lifts. These cost €11 per day per person.
The Multi Pass Portes du Soleil Season Pass
This is a season pass if you plan to spend the entire summer in the Portes du Soleil. This costs €70 per person.
The Multi Pass Portes du Soleil offer is valid from June 12 to September 12. The passes are available to purchase from the ski lift ticket offices.
Other resorts in the Portes du Soleil
If you’re staying in one of the other resorts of the Portes du Soleil not listed above such as Les Crosets or Val D’Illez then a Multi Pass is still available as long as you are staying with a participating host. Your accommodation provider will give you the Multi Pass for the duration of your stay.
